I have been working for 9 years
now and I have changed my jobs thrice. Why? Because the first one had
everything, but somehow after watching Bollywood movies I wanted to try
something different. You see, Bollywood movies inspire a lot! Well after my
inspirations failed and reality hit me hard. I joined another company, left
that one and joined another after two years – But I guess it’s time to leave
this one too!
After rigorous searching and
trying all the possible means of source to search for a job – I failed.
The truth is I didn’t fail to
search for a job – I didn’t know what to search for. Everything is the same. Any
company I go to is not going to please me. It might please me more than the
previous one– but down the lane, after 6 months or a year, I will realize or be
forced to know that this job is not worth my skills (Skills that I don’t even
know I have- or I must have developed in that 6 months) to work in that –
either it pays me less or my boss is not right or everything is good but I want
more. The fact is we are never ever satisfied with what we have – it’s because
we don’t know what we want. We are neither enjoying eating nor earning, because
we are either eating less or earning less.
Every day I pass by seeing men at
construction working under the boiling sun – I think about how we refuse to
walk in heat from home to metro or anywhere for a minute. These people are
working – I am sure the company doesn’t give them enough benefits or facilities
– I mean, after this, the least they can be offered is a spa, right? Because that is what we demand even after
working under the Ac and well equipped offices.
All I can say is that first we
should know what we want and what we are best at- may be certain ventures are
not that good - but at least if we are doing what we like we can enjoy both a
bit earning and a bit of eating. Cause
baby money is not everything.
Rashmi, I agree with 2 things you said. First, we are never satisfied with what we have, it's simply human nature. A millionaire will tell you, he wants to be a multi-millionaire or a billionaire. Second, we often DONT know our strengths and that's where close friends and colleagues come in, to tell you what you reflect to the outside world. Please bring more blog posts and I'm waiting for your movie reviews! I'm not a frequent movie viewer but I always read your review. - Anu
